👋 Start by picking a pathway above — the tabs toggle, so combine as many as you like ("All" switches everything on). The Pay and Timelines guides follow your selected pathways. Click any marker for details.

DCT hospital posts (size = places) · DFT schemes (area pins) · joint DFT+DCT (2-year) · StR centres · StR posts (Ldn/KSS) · ACF · dental schools · royal colleges & CGDent (always shown — click to visit)

Most joint DFT+DCT schemes share a town with a 1-year scheme, so when zoomed out their badge is nudged clear of it — the hairline and dot mark the true anchor town. Zoom in and they settle back. Use the length filter to see the 2-year schemes on their own.

The five gold-rimmed shields mark the professional bodies — the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the College of General Dentistry. A small crown marks the four royal colleges. They stay on the map whatever else you filter; clicking one takes you to that college online. When zoomed out, shields near each other fan apart — the hairline and dot mark the true address, just like the scheme badges. The shields are this map’s own device — a chief showing each college’s nation over a colour that tells the five apart — not the colleges’ arms or logos, and not a mark of any endorsement.

DCT counts are places — the trainees actually recruited. One Oriel listing can carry several places, and listings advertised with no places this round are hidden (turn them on with the checkbox on the DCT tab). The specialty filter works across pathways — it narrows DCT posts, joint schemes and ACFs, and highlights matching StR centres. Guides: Pay, Timelines and DST vacancies — the buttons just under the filters.
